Build Your Own Longboard

First you need to aquire some trucks, bushings, and wheels.

The bushings are best to be quite soft, to allow long, carving turns, but not  too soft.

The wheels are best to be quite a hard compound, PU injected would proabably be allright, but rubber is best.

Bearings have to be good, abec fives are fine, sevens are better, but any higher than 7 is just wasting money...

Now you have the gear, you can start designing the board. You can use 5ply or 7ply, it doesn't really matter. I used 5ply and it has held together fine, so don't really worry.

You almost definately want a tail end that is wide enough to give the foot good suppourt, and you probably want to have a kicktail. This is difficult however, but i'll soon have a section on this.

To build a board without a kicktail, continue and mark out the wood. It probably wants to be about 3 and a half to 4 feet long and 20cm wide.
